The "LEAGUE"

Not just any League, we are talking about our very own National League of Postmasters.

It was a very long and tiring trip to Louisville Ky, but let me tell all of you that it was worth every moment of my time.  It would be worth your time as well and guaranteed  to be an experience of a life time as a first timer and then the following years as an every timer.  I sure have been experiencing many firsts this last year.   We should all try our best to attend our convention, if not the national at lease our very own state convention which is fast approaching.

On the third day I finally found Josie Savo postmaster of South Naknek and retired Postmaster of Soldotna Margaret Stanley.  Well, maybe they found me.  I must say that these ladies are wonderful.  Margaret is a very experienced Postmaster that knows her job, she should be up there with the National officer.

For all the first two days that I, or they, were missing in action, I was adopted by the Michigan postmasters. They are a group of sweet, nice and caring people. Thank you guys for making me feel at home.

The third day we all get down to business. A massive list of speakers with a great number of good topics were discussed.  It is almost like our postmaster training except here we are all postmasters with our league leader who are all well informed. You know why because they go out there and learn more so that they can answer all our questions.  Let us make use of them. The knowledge they gather are for all of us, all we need to do is call them with our question.  Believe me they all know the answer, if not they will definitely find it for you.

If you don't feel like calling them, I'm here.   I got elected for something right? I probably have a purpose for holding the title. Again there are no too small or too big of a problem.  We will tackle them head on with the help of all officers.

Last but not least, Wesley Foster you are great,  "Congratulation".  I'm so proud to have accepted that trophy for you.  First place Category 3 Newsletter, Best in the Nation.

Bye for now!   I'll write more next time. State convention is coming up, please call or email me with anything you would like to talk about, topics that interest you or just any idea that would make it more fun during the State Convention.  We really don't need the convention to be boring, it's up to us.  Oh, but right, we are Postmasters and our jobs are not boring.
