League Rising in Alaska

Denali

As always there is excitement in the air as the Alaska State League convention hits town.  The question on everyone mind is who will be there.  As any gathering is planned the answer will be known when the gavel is brought down to open the convention.

The National President visited our great state along with some very first timers and some not so first timers.

However, as the snap shot below shows there were the long time players and the new b’s.  Since one might be a first timer does not mean they will not be welcome.  On the contrary, the league enjoyed Ana Alfonso’s company as a first timer, the convention delegates voted her in as the next President.  Postmaster Loretta Ward of Kotzebue was very impressed with the guest speakers and the camaraderie of the attendees.  Dwight Stampflee has attended conventions in the past, now though as the Postmaster of Anchorage.  No matter how one looks at this years convention, everyone had fun and learned many new concepts of the Postal Service.

We say a hardy thanks to the outgoing President from Kenai, Laurel Pickering.  Congratulations to Ana Alfonso as the new President, Lisa Anderson from Naknek as Executive Vice President, George Bowden from Levelock as Vice President, the foundation of the whole board is Janice Ball as Sec/Trea.  A welcome back to the board to Robert Fimon as Adverse action counselor.
